Security & Trust
Security and trust as a product feature
Buyers no longer take security on faith. The platforms that win publish how access, audit and recovery actually work.

Security used to be a questionnaire answered at the end of a sale. It is now part of the evaluation, and often part of the demo.
Make access legible
Roles, permissions and inherited access should be visible inside the product, not described in a PDF. An administrator who can see exactly who can do what is an administrator who will notice when something is wrong.
Audit trails belong to the customer
If an action changes data, the organisation that owns the data should be able to read the record of it — actor, time, before and after.
Automate the boring controls
Dependency scanning, secret rotation, least-privilege grants and policy reviews should run on a schedule, not on the memory of whoever is on call.
Practise the incident
A rehearsed response is the difference between an incident and a crisis. Write the runbook, run the drill, publish what you learned.
